This is a special order item from Tabata Kihachi V. To commemorate 200 years since the founding of the Tokugawa Shogunate, this wonderful one-of-a-kind item was hand-painted using indigo dyes from the Edo period, using the Chaya Tsuji dyeing technique, which was inspired by the seaside scenery of the Kishu Tokugawa clan, and indigo sticks, a dye from the Edo period owned by the Tabata family, which has been in business for 200 years since the Edo period. The kimono is made of ro fabric with a full indigo lining and lined with ro fabric, so it can be worn for a long time without being see-through.

Kihachi V, chairman of the Association of Traditional Craftsmen, has appeared on many shows, including Tetsuko's Room and NHK's Bi no Tsubo, and is a leading figure in Kyoto yuzen, having received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, among other awards. Incidentally, his grandfather, Kihachi III, was the first person to be designated a Living National Treasure for yuzen dyeing.
